Summer 2015:

Several new works, Electric Pilgrims, Mexican Dream, Soft City and Objects in a Landscape, are now being distributed by Heure Exquise! in France and the Inter Media Art Institute in Dusseldorf.

These four new works were included in Van McElwee: New Work, at the St. Louis Art Museum, as part of the St. Louis International Film Festival.

The Inter Media Art Institute also produced an edition of my 107 x 60cm (42 x 23 inches) video stills mounted on aluminum, for the
exhibition "Same But Different" at the IMAI in Dusseldorf. The images were from the Guggenheim video project Half-Real.

My new piece MEXICAN DREAM played through June on the Citygarden Videowall as the the Second-Place winner ($1000)
of the St. Louis Cinema at Citygarden competition. You can view the stand-alone video of Mexican Dream HERE.

MEXICAN DREAM  won “Best Experimental Film” in the Cinema St. Louis Filmmaker’s Showcase at the Tivoli Theater in St. Louis.

Summer 2014:

Electric Pilgrims premiered as an architectural multi-channel installation for the opening of the KETC Public Media Commons in St. Louis.

Premiered my new 3D anaglyph piece Archaic Rooms with live musical accompaniment by vocalist Debbie Lum at Ancient Now,
a multimedia event presented by HEARDing Cats Collective of St. Louis.

Another Guggenheim project, the video installation Half-Real is having its European Premiere at the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf,
April 5th through August 10th.

My video work "Flag and Its Shadow," was presented by Heure Exquise! in France, on the ARTE CREATIVE platform,
a website that brings together artists from various disciplines.

Two new sound installations, Tertiary Pastels and Dark Green played at the Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis, May 9-August 10. 

Travelled to Peru and Mexico for production under a Webster University Faculty Research Grant.

David Finkelstein reviewed my 2003 piece  Natureland in Film Threat.

Fall 2013:

Received the Individual Artist’s Fellowship from the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission ($20, 000).

In September, I helped produce and bring to campus St. Louis’ first underwater concert, AQurld. Between 300 and 350 people came to the event.

Completed a new video piece, Original Self, which premiered at the St. Louis Art Museum with musical interpretations by three different ensembles.

Showed a video installation of my Guggenheim project And/Or at Bruno David Gallery in St. Louis.

Summer 2013:

1. David Finkelstein reviewed six of my works in Film Threat:

2. TRAVEL DREAM/DREAM TRAVEL won Best Experimental Film in the Cinema St. Louis Filmmaker’s Showcase

3. THE CAPITOL OF THE MULTIVERSE was displayed on the media façade of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zabreb, Republic of Croatia, as part of the Zagreb World Festival of Animated Film

4. AND/OR was broadcast on the Italian television channel Sky Arte Italia

5. Webster University in St. Louis awarded me a generous research grant for travel in Mexico and Peru for the production of a new video work.

I recently premiered two new video pieces, TRAVEL DREAM and DREAM TRAVEL in Europe at Artpool in Budapest (as part of a labyrinthine installation of fifteen years of my work) and at ASIFA Austria, in the Museum Quartier in Vienna (included were installations of AND/OR and CAPITOL of the MULTIVERSE). Also in Vienna at Stern Studio, I showed an installation of the video SUPERNATURAL, with prints from the work.
